Professor Eva Segelov, director of Oncology at Monash University and Monash Health Australia, visited Renji hospital for three days,meeting with the vice president of Renji hospital Professor Wen Daxiang, Chairof Oncology of Renji hospital Professor Wang Liwei , Director of Bio-bank Professor Kang Xiaonan of Renji hospital and Professor Chen Yinxuan’s research team on Gastroenterology. In addition, the head nurse Ms. Yangyan, director of international health care, Mr. Wang Chunming, and deputy director of the presidents’ office Ms. Zhoumi had a meeting with Professor Eva on behalf of the hospital to discuss the potential collaboration opportunities between Renji hospital and Monash University and Monash Health on clinical research collaboration and multi-centered clinical trails in dealing with caner.

Professor Eva Segelovwas previously Senior Medical Oncologist at St Vincent’s Hospital, St Vincent’s Private Hospital and St Vincent’s Clinic and Associate Professor of Medicine,University of New South Wales. She is an Honorary Associate of the NHMRC Clinical Trials Centre, Sydney Medical School and Honorary Clinician at the Royal Melbourne Hospital. She has specialist interest in the diagnosis and management of upper and lower gastrointestinal cancers, including neuroendocrine tumours and anal cancer, as well as breast cancer. Prof Segelov has led numerous national and international oncology clinical trials including the ICECREAM, QUASAR2, SCOT and ASCOLT trials.

During this visit, Professor Eva Segelov delivered a SIM(Society, Individual and Medicine) lecture of Oncology Epidemiology for the students from the Ottawa-Shanghai Joint Medical School.
