As invited by Renji Hospital affiliated to Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine, Professor Raina Macintyre visited the hospital to further develop International Talent Training Collaboration.


 

This is the third round visiting from UNSW to Renji hospital since the signing of Memorandum of Cooperation between the two organizations. Based on the deep discussion during this visit, the outline of the International Talent Training Program has been settled together with the budget and timeline to conduct. Professor Daxiang Wen, the vice president of the hospital; Ms. Mi Zhou, deputy of the presidents’ office; and Mr. Chunming Wang, director of the exchange and collaboration office attended the meeting and discussed with Professor Raina Macintyre in detail.
Renji Hospital has devoted huge efforts on International Talent Training in the recent 5 years and got fruitful outcomes. In the next five years, the hospital is going to focus on managers of the hospital as well as the doctors, nurses and researchers, to enlarge their scopes in health care innovation, latest technologies, cultures and concepts etc.

 

 

Professor Raina Macintyre was also invited by Ottawa-Shanghai Joint School of Medicine, which is the first Joint Medical School in China, to deliver a lecture on ‘Vaccines and Adverse Events’ for the medical students. Professor Raina Macintyre is the director of two NHMRC Centers for Research Excellence (CRE) in immunization and epidemic response, who has won over 12 million in category 1 research grants and published over 250 peer reviewed publications. She is also the member of expert groups including the US Institute of Medicine and WHO, as well as national expert groups; editorial board membership for BMJ Open, Vaccine and Epidemiology & Infection; and receives regular plenary invitations to international conferences in her field. She has won many national and international prizes for her research, including the Sir Henry Wellcome Medal and Prize from the Association of Military Surgeons of the United States.
