On the afternoon of April 10, Prof. OrsolyaGenzel-Boroviczeny, Director of Division of Neonatology and Direct of InternationalStudent Exchange Program, Dr. Stefan Lauterbach, Director of InternationalExchange Office, and Ms. Wencke Vonderhagen, Project Coordinator ofInternational Exchange Office from Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich, wereinvited to visit our hospital. Vice President Daxiang Wen, Executive Dean of Ottawa-ShanghaiJoint School of Medicine, Yong Zhang, Coordinator of International ExchangeOffice, and Mi Zhou, Deputy Director of Dean’s Office, received the guests.
Vice PresidentDaxiang Wen firstly gave a warm welcome to the guests of Ludwig MaximilianUniversity of Munich. He mentioned that with the development of the ShanghaiFree Trade Area, more and more large enterprises will be settled in Pudong in thefuture, which will bring unprecedented opportunities and challenges for theinternational development of our hospital. The international development of thehospital is an important part of the "13th Five-Year Plan". Thehospital hopes to deepen the cooperation with the existing internationalpartners and increase the support for overseas training and student exchange ofmedical, nursing, scientific research and management personnel. Meanwhile, thehospital also warmly welcomes foreign doctors to carry out medical, teachingand research works in our hospital.
Deputy Director Mi Zhou,introduced the overall situation of the hospital to the guests. ProfessorBoroviczeny introduced the communication projects of Ludwig MaximilianUniversity of Munich and the Faculty of Medicine with China. Dean Wen thenasked in detail about the operation of the Simulation Hospital of the LudwigMaximilian University of Munich. The two sides also discussed the potentialdirection of student exchange programs, teacher training programs, research andclinical cooperation. After the meeting, the guests also visited the InternationalFamily Doctor Clinic.
Dr. Lauterbach saidthat Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich attaches great importance tocooperation with Chinese universities, which has established a majorpartnership with Peking University, Fudan University, Zhejiang University andShanghai Jiao Tong University and other universities. This visit aims to putforward the cooperation in the field of medicine between Ludwig MaximilianUniversity of Munich and Shanghai Jiao Tong University, based on the cooperationframework of the two sides. Hopefully, more and more health care workers,teachers and students of both sides would participate in various types of exchangeprojects in the near future.
