Metabolic-associated Fatty Liver Disease (MAFLD)
MAFLD defines hepatic steatosis (>5%) combined with metabolic dysregulation (overweight/obesity, type 2 diabetes, or ≥2 metabolic risk factors). Its inflammatory subtype MAFLD-related steatohepatitis (MASH) drives fibrosis progression and cirrhosis risk. Our services: Advanced diagnostics (FibroScan, Fibrotouch, MRI-PDFF), lifestyle intervention programs (nutrition/exercise), pharmacotherapy (vitamin E, GLP-1 agonists), and clinical trials for advanced MASH.
Viral Hepatitis: Hepatitis A (HAV) & E (HEV)
Acute infections from contaminated food/water; rarely chronic. Hepatitis B (HBV) & C (HCV): Chronic infections causing cirrhosis/cancer. HBV spreads via blood/body fluids; HCV primarily via blood. Our services: PCR viral load testing, antiviral therapy, cirrhosis surveillance, and liver transplant evaluation.
Autoimmune liver disease: Autoimmune Hepatitis (AIH)
Immune system attacks liver cells. Primary Biliary Cholangitis (PBC): Destroys small bile ducts, causing cholestasis. Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis (PSC):inflammation/scarring of large bile ducts; associated with IBD. Requires ERCP stenting and transplant evaluation.IgG4-Related Sclerosing Cholangitis: Part of systemic IgG4 disease. Our services: Autoantibody testing, MRCP/ERCP, liver biopsy, targeted immunosuppression, and endoscopic therapy.
Alcoholic Liver Disease
Liver damage from excessive alcohol consumption, ranging from fatty liver to alcoholic hepatitis and cirrhosis. Abstinence is critical. Our services: nutritional support, corticosteroid therapy for severe hepatitis, portal hypertension management, and addiction counseling.
Drug-Induced Liver Injury (DILI)
Liver damage caused by prescription drugs, supplements, or herbs. Presentation varies from mild enzyme elevation to acute liver failure. Our services: Causative agent identification, toxin elimination support, specialized testing for idiosyncratic reactions, and acute liver failure management.
Cirrhosis & Complications
cirrhosis is end-stage scarring from chronic liver injury. Complications managed include ascites, esophagogastric variceal hemorrhage, hepatorenal syndrome. Our Services: comprehensive decompensation care, TIPS placement, and transplant coordination.
