Ovarian cysts can occur at any stage of a woman’s life cycle. This program focuses on the screening, diagnosis, and standardized comprehensive management of all types of ovarian cysts, addressing related menstrual irregularities, pubertal development concerns, fertility issues, and menopausal transition, thereby enhancing women’s quality of life and providing expert guidance on fertility preservation and lifelong reproductive health. Notably, extensive experience has been accumulated in the application of single-port laparoscopy for ovarian cystectomy, fertility-sparing procedures, enhanced recovery protocols in the perioperative period, and the holistic management of endometriosis. The spectrum of conditions managed includes, but is not limited to:
(1) Endometriotic cysts (“chocolate cysts”), mature cystic teratomas, ovarian fibromas, corpus luteum cysts; ovarian abscesses and hydrosalpinx as manifestations of pelvic inflammatory disease; paratubal (mesosalpinx) cysts; pregnancy-associated ovarian cysts; other pelvic masses of indeterminate origin.
(2) Early detection, genetic risk stratification, and longitudinal management of ovarian neoplasms, with particular emphasis on individuals with a family history of breast cancer, ovarian cancer, or Lynch syndrome. Trans-umbilical single-port laparoscopy has become a routine approach for benign ovarian cystectomy, offering the advantages of minimized surgical trauma, diminished postoperative discomfort, and accelerated convalescence. By exploiting the natural folds of the umbilicus, the incision is discreet and virtually scarless, thereby concurrently achieving disease resolution and alleviating body-image concerns in aesthetically conscious young women.
