On November 20-21, the annual academic conference of the International Living Donor Liver Transplantation Society (iLDLT) was successfully held in Seoul, South Korea. At this annual grand meeting of liver transplant scholars, Renji Hospital Affiliated to Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine was the only team invited to live broadcast the operation at the conference, demonstrating fluorescent laparoscopic liver resection and pediatric liver transplantation, showing the world the strength of China's living donor liver transplantation.

The conference focused on core issues such as improvement of living donor liver transplantation surgical techniques, perioperative management and long-term prognosis, and attracted hundreds of liver transplant experts from around the world to engage in academic exchanges and discussions, including internationally renowned liver transplant experts Academician Chen Zhaolong, Jan Lerut, Mohamed Rela and Professor Mureo Kasahara.

Professor Xia Qiang, the president of Renji Hospital, led the team to perfectly present this wonderful live broadcast of the operation to scholars from all over the world. In particular, in key technical aspects such as the evaluation of living liver transplant donors, transplant liver vascular reconstruction and complication prevention and treatment strategies, Professor Xia Qiang's team shared and demonstrated Renji's experience to their peers around the world. The operations of the donor and the recipient were closely coordinated and completed in one go. The operation took less than 6 hours, which received unanimous praise and warm response from the experts present. After the operation was successfully completed, the meeting site expressed congratulations with warm applause.

It is reported that at the end of 2021, Professor Xia Qiang, as a Chinese representative, won the right to host the 7th International Living Donor Liver Transplantation Conference in 2025 for Shanghai at the Executive Committee Meeting of the International Society for Living Donor Liver Transplantation. This is the first time that Shanghai has successfully won the right to host a high-level international organ transplantation conference. At that time, as the rotating president of the International Society for Living Donor Liver Transplantation, Professor Xia Qiang will lead the team to continue to show China's transplantation technology and style to the world.
