The Department of Traditional Chinese Medicine of Renji Hospital Affiliated to Shanghai Jiaotong University School of Medicine is a "famous department" of traditional Chinese medicine in Pudong New Area, a national famous and veteran traditional Chinese Medicine studio, and a heritage base for characteristic techniques of Shanghai acupuncture and moxibustion schools. On the basis of inherits the academic experience of the predecessors, it makes in-depth exploration, takes the disease as the center, develops the construction of characteristic subspecialty disciplines, improves the core competitiveness, strengthens the scientific research and talent team construction, and builds the advantage discipline of TCM.

The Department of Traditional Chinese Medicine of Renji Hospital Affiliated to Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine has been improved and expanded continuously since its establishment. It is a clinical discipline of traditional Chinese medicine with strong technical force and solid medical foundation. At present, there are 19 medical technicians and nurses in the general practice, including doctoral supervisors, master supervisors, professors, associate professors and other well-known experts and scholars. Among them, there are 1 leading talents of traditional Chinese Medicine in Shanghai, 2 "Xinglin New Star" talents of traditional Chinese Medicine, and 1 "Excellent Youth of Pujiang" of Renji Hospital. In addition, a number of doctoral and master students in oncology, immunology and gynecology have been trained. The department of Traditional Chinese Medicine currently includes the east , the West , the south and the north district , including special clinics, specialists, special diseases and general clinics. The specialized outpatient clinic includes asthma, kidney disease, gynecological tumor, acupuncture and moxibustion rehabilitation and other subspecialties, and the development and construction of characteristic subspecialties. The clinical application of "acupuncture and drug tonifying kidney and regulating week method" in the treatment of gynecological endocrine diseases, and the sequential therapy of traditional Chinese medicine in the treatment of patients with gynecological tumor after surgery can improve the quality of life of patients, improve the survival rate and prolong the disease-free survival time.
