The proportion of foreign patients in commercial insurance patients reached 21%, covering the United States, Britain, Germany, Norway, Denmark, Switzerland, Spain, Australia, Russia, India and Singapore. In January 2017, Renji Hospital cooperated with DNV GL, a world-renowned international third-party accreditation, assessment and risk management agency, to launch the DNV GL International Accreditation Project of Renji Hospital. Thanks to the efforts of the whole hospital over the past year, it successfully passed the accreditation in early 2018.

“To establish a foreign-related medical quality and safety organization structure, system procedures, assessment methods and continuous improvement measures that fit within the framework of public hospitals in China, and make the medical quality and safety norms of the International Clinic of Renji Hospital become benchmarks of China’s foreign-related medical service quality, and further improve the wide-range service quality and medical experience offered by Multi-District Public Hospitals.”Weiping Li, Director of Renji Hospital, also hopes that this accreditation could offer an opportunity to carry out medical service cooperation and promote exchanges between China and Norway, which could provide better service for Shanghai to establish an excellent global city.
