Established in 1997, Renji Hospital's Emergency Department handles critical cases in Pudong and Minhang, ranking top three in Shanghai for outpatient volume with over 400,000 visits in 2023. It is also one of the first emergency resident training base in Shanghai and grants master's degrees through Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine. Meanwhile, Renji Hospital's Emergency Departmentis involved in various research projects (National Natural ScienceFoundation of China, Shanghai Health Bureau, et al), including leading the quality control team for emergency and ICU services in Shanghai's Pudong and operating a technical training center for acute poisoning treatment.

 

The department has 64 doctors, including 4 chief physicians, 14 associate chief physicians, 25attending physicians and 21 residents, and 11 have an MD and 49 have an MM degree.It serves as a center for treating critical and severe illnesses, providing consultations for difficult diseases, managing multi-system diseases, and responding to public health emergencies.With expertise in clinical care, first aid, rescue equipment, and scientific research, the department has several medical treatment alliancesin Pudongand serves the Yangtze River Delta region.The emergency department received prestigious awards in the Shanghai health system, including advanced collectives and the March 8 Red Flag Collective.

 

Zhu Changqing, director of the Emergency Department, chief physician, supervisor of postgraduate, and has been a member, deputy chairman, and chairman of various emergency physician associations.He has worked in emergency medicine for over 30 years and led or participated in over 20 national, provincial, and ministerial projects, totaling nearly 3 million yuan in funding. This includes 2 National Natural ScienceFoundation projects and 1 Shanghai HealthBureauproject.He has published numerouspapers in authoritative journals both domestically and internationallyin the professional field, and contributed to consensus documents and reviewed academic journals.

Director ZhuChangqing has extensive experience in emergency and critical medicine, leading the department in medical education, research, and general practice growth while ensuring medical safety.He consistently saves lives on the front lines, treating critically ill patients with accurate diagnosis, efficient treatment, and compassionate care.He trained many exceptional emergency medicine professionals and led the department to win a training base for talent in domestic emergency medicine.

As the department director, he focuses on team building and improving the emergency department's overall strength through resource optimization and internal management, leading to consistently high rankings in peer reviews.Director Zhu Changqing's exceptional medical skills, teaching attitude, scientific research vision, and leadership have not only led to the success of the Renji Hospital's Emergency Department, but also served as a model for the Chinese emergency medicine community.
