The Department of Clinical Nutrition of Renji Hospital Affiliated to Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine is the co-construction unit of key medical disciplines of Shanghai Health Bureau, the demonstration unit of Clinical Nutrition of Chinese Nutrition Society, and the undergraduate teaching base of the Department of Nutrition of Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine. For more than 40 disciplines in Renji Hospital, we provided clinical medical services such as enteral and parenteral nutrition treatment (consultation, ward rounds and allocation), nutrition outpatient diagnosis and treatment of various diseases, and dietary nutrition (preparation of therapeutic diet, ward rounds of nutrition consultation, and diet management of patients).

Main clinical and scientific features: Clinical application and basic research of parenteral nutrition in critically ill patients. To provide standardized, reasonable and individualized enteral parenteral nutrition treatment services for all clinical departments in the hospital. Nutrition consultation, nutrition assessment, individualized enteral and parenteral nutrition treatment plan formulation, three-stage ward rounds, parenteral nutrition solution allocation and infusion monitoring have formed a scientific, standardized and complete system. Enteral parenteral nutrition consultation patients are mainly from critical patients of various clinical disciplines. It includes multiple organ failure, short bowel syndrome, various types of digestive tract fistula (intestinal fistula, biliopancreatic fistula), chyle leak fistula caused by various reasons, gastroparesis after digestive tract surgery, severe pancreatitis and pancreatic tumor surgery, bladder tumor Bricker's surgery, aortic dissection surgery, severe inflammatory bowel disease, small intestine malabsorption syndrome, severe craniotraumatic injury, and renal failure Analysis of dysphagia caused by treatment, severe rheumatic diseases with intestinal failure, critically ill parturient women, cancer cachexia, geriatric nutrition, various diseases (nasopharyngeal cancer after radiotherapy, Parkinson's disease, Alzheimer's disease, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, etc.). So far, more than 15,000 cases have been consulted and treated with enteral and parenteral nutrition. Through reasonable and standardized enteral and parenteral nutrition treatment, many critically ill patients have achieved good clinical outcomes. Nutrition specialists and specialist clinics are established to provide nutritional assessment, screening and body composition analysis, nutritional diagnosis and treatment of medical services (mainly including obesity, hypertension, lipid metabolism disorders, fatty liver, diabetes, gout, renal insufficiency, inflammatory bowel disease, tumors, perioperative period, swallowing disorders, undernutrition, etc.). My department has undertaken 14 provincial and ministerial level and bureau level projects. He has published 128 core journal papers and 43 SCI papers. Our department has 7 physicians, including 2 senior titles (2 chief physicians), 4 attending physicians and 1 resident physician. 2 PhD students and 1 PhD candidate. There are 12 dietitians, 10 registered dietitians, and 7 intermediate title dietitians. In the past 10 years, more than 40 doctors from all over the country have received training.

Our department has been awarded the title of "March 8th Red Flag Collective" of Jiaotong University Medical School, "Women's Civilization Post" of Shanghai, "Public Welfare Contribution Award" of Shanghai Overseas Chinese Federation, and "Advanced Department of Nutrition Construction in 2017" by Chinese Nutrition Society.
