"Ten months ago, my mother underwent a craniotomy for clipping of a left anterior cerebral artery aneurysm in Mongolia, but postoperatively she developed right-sided limb weakness, delayed responses, slurred speech, and facial rigidity. Recent exams revealed severe internal carotid artery stenosis," shared a Mongolian family member during an international teleconsultation with Dr. Wan Jieqing, Chief Physician of Neurosurgery at Renji Hospital.

After meticulous evaluation, Dr. Wan’s team proposed a minimally invasive endovascular procedure to address the cerebral ischemia. Remarkably, on the first postoperative day, the patient could ambulate independently, with significant recovery in right limb strength and fluent speech. Most heartening was the marked return of her radiant smile.
