Shanghai Renji Hospital's Nephrology Department is renowned for its advanced peritoneal dialysis (PD) treatment for end-stage renal disease. As a leading center in China, it boasts long-term follow-up data on over 760 PD patients. Since 1997, the department has been at the forefront of PD education, having successfully organized the national-level continuing education program "Peritoneal Dialysis: Fundamentals and Clinical Practice" for 23 consecutive sessions, training over 2,000 PD professionals across the country. Recognized as one of the Ministry of Health’s first Peritoneal Dialysis Training Demonstration Centers and an Asia-Pacific Peritoneal Dialysis Clinical College, the department has also received multiple national research awards for its PD-related studies. Its standardized PD management approach and patient-centered care have significantly improved patients' quality of life and survival rates, making it a benchmark for PD treatment in China.
