The Endocrinology Department of Renji Hospital affiliated with Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine was established in 1999. It is a research-oriented department that integrates clinical practice, scientific research, and teaching. At present, there are a total of 22 physicians, with a Ph.D. degree accounting for 80%. There are 2 senior professors, 8 associated senior professors, 2 Ph.D. supervisors, and 3 master's supervisors. The department has made remarkable achievements in the clinical and scientific research of polycystic ovary syndrome for many years. In recent years, Professor Ma Jing, the head of the department, has gradually expanded the advantages and sub professional directions of the department, focusing on building a hardcore department with comprehensive development of endocrinology and metabolism. Not only has the original obesity sub specialty become another brand direction of the department, but it has also opened the National Metabolic Disease Management Center (MMC), obesity and reproduction, pituitary/adrenal diseases, fatty liver, osteoporosis, thyroid and other characteristic clinics or multidisciplinary joint clinics, keeping up with the forefront of medical development, using advanced technologies such as molecular diagnosis to strive for accurate diagnosis and personalized treatment of diseases, and providing patients with the highest quality medical care throughout their entire life cycle.
